Positive Psychology Life Coaching

We all face hurdles at one time or another in our life. Some of these hurdles are easier for us to surmount than others.

Sometimes, we doubt ourselves or need to bounce ideas off of someone – before we make the BIG move, or before we chose a new direction or stay on-course.

Using Positive Psychology principles, science of Well-Being and science of Character Strengths, I will guide you in your quest, helping you recognize what is an opportunity and how you can face adversity, decipher what your next move should be and how to take on the lessons and grow from it.

Legacy Project / Legacy Coaching

At one point in our life, we will face death – either by being confronted by our own mortality or in having someone we love die. Death is a fact of Life. Yet Death does not have to mean “The End”.

A Legacy coach is meant to guide you in identifying the values you cherish the most. Together, we then determine how you might want to live by those values, how you might want to build the Legacy you wish to leave behind.

In 2012, I faced death head on, when my car hit black ice. I was 34 years old and my son, to whom I am his only parent, was 16 months old. I survived the crash yet sustained a Spinal Cord Injury and became paraplegic. Two years prior, my cousin Sylvia died of cancer after battling for four years. Her children were 5 and 9 years old. A few years later, I accompanied my dad in his final moments.

We all will face the loss of abilities, identity or the loss of someone dear to us. I am here to construct with you a plan, or a Legacy Project, that will help you ease your soul. Together with my mom, my cousin sewed these beautiful patch-work blankets for all the children in our family. In her memory, I wrote a book about stories and letters of loved ones – as a safekeep momento for her children, so they’d be able to remember her by. All the children she knew she would never get to know for very long. With my dad, it was about remembering the recipes he’d cook for us.

A Legacy Project helps us mobilise our loss into something positive and concrete. It can take on many forms, from a simple photo album, a storybook, a recipe book, a Legacy letter, a video farewell and any project that use art as a way of reminding our loved ones of who we were or who they were. A way of staying in the hearts and minds of our loved ones, even beyond death.

Storytelling Coaching

After my accident, I used writing as a way to express and release my pain and frustration. The first texts I wrote were dark. And as I processed my grief, they became more uplifting as I’d incorporate the lessons we could all benefit from.

I used storytelling as a mean of expression. I studied the Art of Storytelling by several Masters, from Matthew Dicks (Storyworthy), to Kindra Hall (Stories that Stick, Choose your Story, Change your Life), Maria Sirois, Psy.D. (A short course in Happiness after Loss, and other dark, difficult times), The Moth (How to Tell a Story) and many others. And I studied Narrative Based Medecine and Narrative Therapy.

A few years ago, I shared my stories via North America’s largest Speaking Competition and in 2021, after winning several competitions during the year, I earned the title of Inspirational Speaker of the Year.

I also got to share my most precious stories of being a mother in a wheelchair in my first published work, called Mom on Wheels: The Power of Purpose as a Parent with Paraplegia.

As I strongly believe everyone has a story to share, I made the decision to share my Grand Slam prize and embarked on a book deal with several of the Speaker Slam speakers. I believed their stories also needed to be told and shared. Together, we co-wrote Our Yellow Brick Road: An Anthology of Humans who Believe in the Impact of Storytelling. (LINK to AUTHOR PAGE)

I strongly believe we ALL have stories to tell and I want to help you get yours out into the world – that the world be one person in your life or literally, the whole world. Let me guide you in this process.
